The Center’s mission is to study, preserve, and systematize the historical heritage of Bukovyna’s printed publications; to promote scientific research in the fields of journalism, publishing, and book printing in the region; and to establish interdisciplinary and international scholarly cooperation.
The Center brings together specialists in history, journalism, book studies, philology, library science, and cultural studies.
The Center’s priority tasks are:
- collecting, digitizing, and archiving printed materials;
- preparing and publishing scholarly works;
- organizing scientific and cultural-educational events;
- promoting knowledge through the media, exhibitions, and online resources;
- creating an electronic catalog of Bukovyna’s printed heritage;
- involving students and young researchers in scholarly work;
- developing and strengthening direct contacts with cultural institutions and public
- organizations whose activities are aimed at studying and preserving historical
- monuments of the spiritual culture of the Bukovyna region.
